LAFAYETTE, LA – Medical authorities released a statement today, reminding all residents about the importance of ensuring that all shots, immunizations, and vaccinations are kept up-to-date if you plan on attending the Cajun Heartland State Fair this week.

The fair is listed on the Center for Disease Control’s official list of ‘Places you should probably protect yourself from’, alongside the likes of The Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Morgan City, and The Superdome when Atlanta Falcons are in town.

Local vaccination expert Roger Galdon explains that it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

“We always encourage people to come in and get a few shots before visiting the fair”, he said, “We suggest getting the whole range done, just to be sure. And when I say the whole range I mean the whole range – Flu, Hep. A, Hep. B,  Malaria, Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Meningitis, Rabies, Encephalitis – honestly, just ask for them all. You might look like a voodoo doll by the time you’re done and might have possibly lost a few pints of blood, but trust me, it’ll be worth it.”

The fair starts today, with the opening ceremony kicking off at 1pm. Head to the main stage to see Sammy Kershaw perform acoustic versions of 90’s and 2000’s rap-metal hits.
